5 common questions answered
NHTSA identifies engine and brake recall concerns associated with the 2021 Hyundai Kona. On certain vehicles with a 2.0L Nu MPI engine, improperly heat-treated piston oil rings may cause engine damage, stalling, or an oil leak onto hot exhaust components that could create a fire risk. On certain Kona Electric vehicles, an Integrated Electronic Brake system sensor issue may significantly reduce braking performance and lengthen stopping distance. Waiting can leave a safety concern unresolved. A prompt VIN check shows whether either remedy applies to your Kona, helping you make an informed decision before driving farther.
