5 common questions answered
NHTSA identifies two safety concerns for the 2020 Hyundai NEXO. The Remote Smart Parking Assist software may fail to prevent vehicle movement after detecting an RSPA malfunction, creating a risk of unintended movement and a crash. The Integrated Electronic Brake system may detect an abnormal sensor signal and significantly reduce braking performance, potentially lengthening stopping distance and increasing crash risk. Waiting to verify an open recall can leave these concerns unresolved. Because Hyundai defines the remedy and provides it at no charge, prompt VIN verification is a reassuring way to address safety-related software updates.
